OTRIVIN | NASAL MIST (CGI GOOSE)

It’s a mist, not a blast! With a soft tip and not a pointy one…

The Berry & Kode collaborated with Otrivin to introduce their innovative nasal mist, with a series of three, humorous TV commercials, directed by The Berry Boys).

After some brilliant filmmaking work from Kode and The Berry Boys, the VFX footage was handed over to The Berry.

The Berry designed, modelled and animated a photo-real, mischievous CGI Canadian Goose, who played an additional key character. The Goose interacts with our lead actor, who is suffering from congestion!

The concept revolves around the notion that conventional nasal sprays can feel abrasive, akin to the sensation of a “Goose biting your nose!”. In contrast, Otrivin's innovative nasal mist, offers a gentle experience, reminiscent of a feather, delicately caressing the tip of your nose.

The creation process for the CGI Goose involved meticulous steps in 3D software, starting with modelling from scratch using abundant Canadian goose references. Once the character took shape, it was rigged and groomed with detailed feather work. The Goose was animated to synchronise with the actions of the talent on screen, aided by a VFX reference ball, serving as an eye line reference. To maintain consistency with the on-set lighting, HDRI images were captured and utilised for precise lighting and rendering, ensuring seamless integration of the goose, into the scene.
